Today the dentist visited our child care centre and provided a check up and clean for children over 2 years of age. The dentist educated the children on healthy foods and drinks and showed them how to brush their teeth properly.
We had lots of willing children see the dentist and all had clean and healthy teeth!
One of the benefits of getting children familiar with dentists early on is NOT to associate the dentist with pain. Going to the dentist needn’t always be about drilling holes in our teeth and getting cavities filled. Through activities such as this we can create a more positive association and remove any anxiety in our children about going to the dentist.
