The Mayor of Toowoomba takes time to read to our children during Book Week

Toowoomba mayor reading to children

Happy Book Week!

The importance of reading to children in their early years can’t be understated.

We obviously celebrate books all year long but Book Week is the chance for us to delve really deep into the world of books, helping children engage with lots of costumes and lots of fun ways to read and immerse ourselves into the stories. There are so many studies that show books and reading are the foundation for literacy and language in a child’s life.  So the read to children, and read with children is really valuable.

We were privileged to have Mayor Paul Antonio read to our children today. The children love visitors and the Mayor of Toowoomba is no exception. He did an excellent job of reading to the children and making story time fun.

Let their learning story start with us.
