Story House Early Learning McDowall Village Childcare

McDowall Village Childcare is a small service licensed for 75 children a day. This licensing ensures each child has a safe space with key educator relationships. We offer 5 rooms with a spacious yard, centre pets, full inclusions, extra curriculum activities and 2 qualified teachers who run a school readiness program for children aged 3-5 years. We have long-term, dedicated staff and play an active role in our local community.

We have an onsite chef who prepares each meal fresh, daily. We offer all meals, nappies, sunscreen, wipes and a Story House Early Learning hat, to ensure your morning drop-offs are smooth. We operate from 6.30 am to 6.30 pm and offer flexible booking options, such as a 9 hour, 10 hour and 12 hour session booking.

My little one comes home learning new things everyday. Other than developing important skills and cognitive functions, she’s taught how to share, how to be kind, mannerisms and a lot more.

We have had our daughter at Mcdowall Village Childcare for just over a year and half and we couldn’t be happier with the way Shannyn has turned the centre around. Her and the staff are so lovely, helpful and keep you informed and up to date with anything happening in the centre. There is something fun and new every month for the kids and our daughter just loves her days there. Thank you Shannyn and all the staff for making Emilia feel so loved and at home with you all.

Being first-time parents, we made sure we did our research when selecting a daycare centre for our son. Since day one, the carers have been helpful and friendly. We go in, and they all know us and our son by name. Having smaller, more intimate rooms, we feel our son Patrick is always getting attention and being included in everything. The daily stories are great in keeping us updated with what the children get up to during the day, but the main thing is, Patrick comes home happy and exhausted from all his fun. He loves his teachers and his friends and that’s the most we can ask for. We have no hesitation recommending the centre to anyone looking.

Denise has worked in the Childcare Industry for 27 years. Her vision is to provide Story House Early Learning McDowall Village with a ‘’home away from home feeling’’, where every child and family member who comes into the service feel that they belong and are part of our Story House McDowall Village community. The first five years of a child’s life are important to develop language, social and lifelong learning skills. Whilst in our care our Nursery, Toddler, Junior Kindy, Pre Kindy and Kindergarten rooms and our outdoor environments are inspired for learning opportunities. We strive and practice sustainability while learning to look after our environment. With the use of open ended resources and our committed education team that is full of innovation we are able to celebrate children’s achievements in their learning journey.

Denise believes in working with my families to build positive relationships for children to have the best outcomes. She takes an active role in being present, so children can feel supported and respected in our environments. Denise has worked in all ages and worked my way up to management. Part of being in the education industry involves always looking after your children, families and staff and improve on Professional Development and research and findings. We are all in this TOGETHER.
