To Boldly Go… to the Galaxy | Story House Putney

This then led to a project all about space. The children were involved in discussions, investigations and hands on exploration.

We made Galaxy Playdough using black paint and sparkles and Moon Sand using coconut oil and flour. The children became researchers with their educators as they gathered information from  books and listened to the “Planet Song”.

Art experiences were set up for children to create their own solar system recognising, naming and describing the 8 planets.

To finish off our project, the children and educators created a virtual solar system exploration centre made out of recycled materials. This allowed the children to interact independently or in a group setting.
