Anastasia has been a loyal casual employee for Story House, working shifts at our Koala Mt Waverley service to gain more experience within early childhood education after completing her Master of Teaching. When an opportunity came available for an ECT at our Kids House Cheltenham centre, Anastasia raised a hand to be considered and was successful in obtaining the position.
Tell us about your career at Story House?
Upon graduation, I started my first childcare work as a casual educator at Story House Mount Waverley service. I felt such enjoyment in my job and felt the urge to try taking on more responsibility as an ECT. The Cheltenham service had an opening and the Story House HR was very supportive to initiate my application. Thankfully, I got the offer and here I am now in Kids House Cheltenham as the Pre Kinder room ECT.
What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
I have always loved children. It simply makes me happy to be around them. Now that I’m in the job, I understand how rewarding it feels to be able to help the children and families even in the littlest way.
What do you love about the service you work in?
The people that I work with have been amazingly kind and supportive. I also love how the organisation including the educators are always acting in the best interest of the children and the family. As a new ECT in the industry, I am really appreciative of the supportive environment where I can learn and grow at ease.
Who Inspires you and why?
My parents are my inspiration in life. I absolutely adore Mum’s kind and compassionate heart. I try my best to live out that same compassion every day. While Dad taught me by example to be tough, strong and courageous. It is never an easy journey to be in a foreign country away from family and if it’s not for Dad & Mum I wouldn’t be where I’m at today.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about helping children learn and grow into their best capacity. I love to be able to help families and the children in any ways that I can.
